Novospassky Monastery

Dating back to the 14th century, the magnificent Novospassky Monastery is known to be the earliest monastery built in Moscow. Lying in the southeastern region of Moscow and considered to be one of the most serene places to visit in Russia, the monastery houses the majestic Transfiguration Cathedral, which was constructed in the 1640s by the royal Romanov family.

The architectural design of this cathedral resembles that of the Assumption Cathedral in Kremlin. The Novospassky Monastery is also home to another church, the Intercession Church, which was constructed in 1675.
